Pokemon Uranium Fan-Game Pulled

Pokemon Uranium Fan-Game Pulled

For nine years, fans worked on Pokemon Uranium . It was a Pokemon fan-game with over 150 new Pokemon, a new region, new characters, new moves, online trading and multiplayer, and a new nuclear type. It was an extraordinary undertaking. And now it’s gone, due to the looming threat of takedown notices from lawyers.

The people behind Pokemon Uranium note that they didn’t receive any personal notification from Nintendo or lawyers in an official statement , but they wanted to respect the company’s wishes. It also seemed like they wanted to get ahead of any potential scandals. This means no more official download links for the fan game, though it makes sure to say it has no connection to anyone who may claim to provide copies.

There’s one good thing that comes from the official statement regarding Pokemon Uranium’ s condition. It turns out the fan game was downloaded over 1,500,000 times. That’s rather extraordinary! I can understand why too. I grabbed it, back when it was first released, and can attest to its quality. It’s a very entertaining game!
