PS3 Black Ops Bundle Announced!

PS3 Black Ops Bundle Announced!

None

If you are a hardcore FPS fan and you want to get your shooting jollies off, then your console of choice is probably the Xbox. However, the PS3 has some cool treats in store for FPS fans as well.

Recently, Sony announced a new limited edition PS3 bundle that includes a 160GB PS3, a copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops, and a download code for the game’s first downloadable add-on map pack, First Strike. The pack will run you a mere $300 dollars, which is about as much as a PS3 costs anyway, except now you get virtual bullets with it.

It’s sure to be a big seller, but there are a few problems with this bundle. For one, it doesn’t come with a microphone, so there is no real way to have the full Black Ops online experience without sinking a bit more money into it. Secondly, the game has already sold 20 million copies, earning Activison over one billion dollars (cue your Dr. Evil pinkies here). At this point, the market is painfully saturated with Black Ops copies and there aren’t a whole lot of other people who really want to get the game. Also, Modern Warfare 3 is going to be coming out later this year, if you believe Activision’s E3 reports. So the Black Ops community is most likely going to fade out as everyone migrates over to the new title.

Still, if you are a diehard FPS fan that doesn’t have a PS3, this bundle is a great deal.
