PS4 Remote Play on PC is Almost a Thing

PS4 Remote Play on PC is Almost a Thing

Independent developer Twisted recently posted in his dev blog about a very special project he’s been working on for over a year: an app that enables PS4 remote play on your PC. Back in June Twisted mentioned that he had been working on this, but it wasn’t until very recently that he achieved fully functioning remote play with sound and controls working properly. Now he wants to release the first version of his shiny new app, which he plans to do tomorrow, but he’s asking you to pay.

Taken from his blog: “I’d like to work on this project full time, adding features, getting it stable and porting it to other platforms which I know a lot of you want! The only way to support this is to charge for the app, all my previous projects have been free and I don’t want to have to but sadly it’s the only way to support my living costs.”

Personally I don’t have a problem with this; I’m sure the code is brilliant, and I’m sure it took a lot of hard work. However, I don’t see Sony taking very kindly to someone making money off of its hardware by making it do something it was never designed to do. I’m rooting for the guy, and here’s hoping I don’t have to write a news story next week covering a lawsuit.
