While sifting through my Twitter feed for something to write about, I came across a tweet from Microsoft’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb. Originally expecting something Xbox One-related, I was pleasantly surprised to see his announcement that Rooster Teeth’s acclaimed machinima series Red vs. Blue is now available on Netflix.
As of Thursday, June 26, the first five seasons of Red vs. Blue are ready to be streamed for your viewing. No doubt further seasons will be added later down the line.
For those unaware, Red vs. Blue is acclaimed to be the longest running internet video series with 12 seasons to its name. The first season beginning in April, 2003, Red vs. Blue has received praise for its originality and has won four awards at film festivals held by the Academy of Machinima Arts & Sciences. The series also won the award for Best Animated Web Series from the International Academy of Web Television.
Red vs. Blue latest season, Season 12, premiered back in late April, and continual episodes have been added every monday from then on out, and utilizes 343 Industries’ Halo 4 and CGI to create short but thrilling videos.
You can catch up on Red vs. Blue’s Season 12 via Rooster Teeth’s official website . If you fancy watching the first five seasons of the series, a Netflix subscription will cost you a monthly payment of £5.99 minimum (or your regional equivalent). If you register, you’ll receive a free, month-long trial to try out Netflix before deciding to commit to a subscription.
