Rooster Teeth is best known for creating Red vs. Blue , the long-running machinima series based loosely on the Halo universe. Can you believe they’re up to 14 seasons? I can’t. In 2015, they moved into the world of video game development, and now the company has announced its next venture: publishing.
The company says that its new publishing arm aims to “[bridge] the gap between independent game developers and the worldwide community of gamers.” They offer indie developers the benefit of an enormous established audience – more than 30 million people subscribe to the Rooster Teeth YouTube channel, and they receive over five million unique monthly visitors to RoosterTeeth.com.
The first game to be published under Rooster Teeth Games is Battlesloths 2025: The Great Pizza Wars . It’s a four-player competitive twin-stick shooter in the vein of Nuclear Throne , with four game modes, 20 weapons, cosmetic customization options, and more. It’s slated to release on Steam in Spring 2017.
