Rising Thunder Now In Open Alpha

Rising Thunder Now In Open Alpha

Rising Thunder , the simplified fighting game project by Seth Killian, former Capcom developer, and the Cannon brothers, co founders of the EVO fighting game championship and creators of GGPO fighting game netcode, has just gone into open alpha. Originally available only for people with exclusive private alpha codes, now anyone can take on this interesting fusion of MOBA and fighting game.

Rising Thunder plays a lot like Street Fighter in most of its aspects. The biggest difference is that its special moves are now one button presses instead of complicated motions. To balance the ease of use with the utility of the move, special moves are now on MOBA-style cooldowns. Additionally, special moves are not static between every character. Instead, you choose loadouts prior to a match to customize your character’s special move list as you like. Still, while the game does make special moves simpler, there are still wonky FADC-style combos to learn, so expect to spend quite a few hours grinding out your character in training.
