A few years ago, LucasArts was purportedly working on the third entry in their popular Battlefront series. The developer never officially announced the game, but rumors were circling wildly, and there was even a bit of gameplay footage that leaked back in 2009. Well, the gossip factory known as the Internet is at it again. Yesterday, PlayStation Lifestyle reported that they’ve uncovered a bit of evidence pointing toward an upcoming Battlefront title being developed by Spark Unlimited. One piece of this evidence is a job posting on Spark’s website looking for a Senior Combat Designer to work on a “3rd Person Action/Adventure sequel in a high-profile science fiction franchise currently greenlit for full production development for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC markets.” Another clue comes from a Spark employee’s LinkedIn profile that mentions an “unannounced third person sword fighting game.” High-profile science fiction sword fighting shooter? That definitely sounds like Star Wars. 
Even if Spark Unlimited isn’t working on Battlefront 3, it will be interesting to see what they’re actually working on. Spark plans on making an official announcement about the game later this year. By Josh Engen |
