RUMOR: Two Square Classics Heading To PSN?

RUMOR: Two Square Classics Heading To PSN?

None

Several days ago, Sony’s official PlayStation Twitter account made an announcement that probably induced tears from fans of Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy. “Yesterday, we incorrectly reported Final Fantasy VI & Chrono Trigger were coming to PSN on Tuesday,” the tweet said “They are not. We apologize for the error.”

However, classic RPG fans can stop blubbering, because a bit of Internet detective work has revealed that Chrono Cross And Final Fantasy Origins could be heading to the PlayStation Network at some point in the near future. According to the ESRB, the company in charge of dolling out the content ratings for American video games, Chrono Cross And Final Fantasy Origins are each being supported by PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable; PSOne Classics on PSN.

Final Fantasy Origins is made up of the first two NES games, which were both released on Japan’s PlayStation Network two years ago and have been available individually on various other platforms including iOS and the Wii’s Virtual Console.

Chrono Cross, the sequel to 1995’s Chrono Trigger, was made available in the Japanese PlayStation Store in July.

Square Enix hasn’t made any type of official announcement yet, but hopefully the news that they are making their way to American will relieve some of the justifiable jealousy that we’ve had for Japan.
