Croteam has recently announced a brand new DLC pack for Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter. Yes, this isn’t a typo. We aren’t talking about Serious Sam 3, the latest HD Serious Sam game here; we’re actually talking about the Second Encounter, the last Serious Sam game. Weird, eh?

Come May 15, “The Legend of the Beast” will be available to download for a mere $4.99 for all Serious Sam HD fans. The Legend of the Best extends both the campaign and multiplayer by adding three brand new single-player missions, three new maps for brutal survivor mode, and three new maps for chaotic versus mode.



The release of this pack might have to do with the game’s multiplayer going free on Steam. Come May 15th, players will be able to experience all of the game’s co-operative and competitive multiplayer modes free of charge. All you need to do is download the standalone multiplayer client. Gamers who pick up this free download may be interested in the new DLC pack just for the maps, and this may motivate them to pick up the single-player portion as well.
