Sony Japan Opens New Custom Vita Engraving Service

Sony Japan Opens New Custom Vita Engraving Service

The Vita hasn’t been doing so hot, mostly because of its lackluster lineup of software. But if you are one of the rare Vita supporters out there, you can give your Vita a little bit more worth by engraving it.

Yes, Sony of Japan is looking to make everyone’s Vita a little bit more personal. Their new service will allow you to pay to engrave your Vita. It costs 500 yen or approximately 4 dollars per letter, which in Japanese might not be so much as names can be written with a few characters, but in English amounts to the price of a game if you want to engrave a simple message like Happy Birthday.

In fact, that’s exactly what the service bills itself as being useful for, putting a personal touch on gifting a PS Vita to a friend or loved one. Now, I own a Vita, and I love playing games like Danganronpa on it, but I have to honestly ask, who the heck would give their loved one a Vita for their birthday in today’s gaming market?

Well, you can also engrave a Playstation TV, which in all honesty is probably a better value.
