Sorry Folks, There Won’t Be A Skyrim Demo

None

The next Elder Scrolls game will undoubtedly be the most beautiful and dangerous one yet. Oblivion brought with it a massive, beautiful world and deep RPG customization, and Skyrim looks to be taking everything to an entirely new level. Armed with a brand new engine, unpredictable encounters with dragons, more powerful spells, and a myriad of other exciting features, Skyrim has many RPG fans frothing at the mouths to get their hands on it.

Those of us who are still on the fence, however, usually rely on demos to give us a brief taste of the games we’re interested in. With Skyrim, this sadly won’t be an option, as it won’t offer a demo to help win over undecided gamers. In a recent interview, Bethesda claimed that Skyrim was too large and complex for a demo to really show what the game is all about. That makes sense, since it’s certainly difficult to show off a 200+ hour game with a sprawling open world and a focus on unpredictability in a short demo.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim releases on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on November 11.
