About every other week now, give or take, Nintendo holds Splatfests in Splatoon . They’re weekend competitions where everyone picks a side, based on their love for a certain thing, and then compete in Turf Wars on teams based upon their decisions. It’s fun, and you get Super Sea Snails that let you upgrade equipment as a reward. And next weekend, the topic is Transformers. You know, the characters from the movies and toy line.
People participating in the August 28-29 Splatfest are asked to side with the Autobots or Decepticons. They’re given a shirt to wear that weekend, representing their choice, and will then fight to defend their choice of good versus evil. The only downside is that you don’t get to keep that shirt for your Inkling after the Splatoon event ends.
I know it sounds like a weird teamup, but it works. Inklings go from squid to kid. Transformers go from vehicles to robots. It works.
