Yesterday, PC Gamer revealed that the download client size from the upcoming Star Citizen game will most likely be around 100GBs. This news comes directly from a forum post by Jeremy Masker, the director of game operations over at Cloud Imperium Games. He added that the massive number of assets and patch updates will be the two main reasons for this increased file size.
Star Citizen could be best described as a space trading and combat simulator game currently in development for the PC and Linux. The final build is expected to include story missions, social spaces, first-person gameplay implementation, and more.
With so much work currently being put into the game, I personally think fans should be excited to hear this news. This shows firsthand that the developers are going all out to create an exceptional game that can and will be played for many days and months to come.
Star Citizen launches sometime next year for PC and Linux.
