Running With Scissors, the developer behind the isometric psychological horror, “ Postal ”, has announced that it’ll be developing a HD remake of the game, entitled “ Postal: Redux ”.
For those who don’t know, Postal was released back in 1997, and it was a third-person isometric shooter with psychological horror elements, where you, “Postal Dude”, a seemingly paranoid individual who apparently slowly descends into mental disarray during the course of the game. Its sequel, “ Postal 2 ” was released a few years later in 2003. However, instead of being isometric, the Postal sequel was entirely in first-person, and conjured up quite the debate due to its controversial content.
Announced via Twitter, Running With Scissors has confirmed that the Postal remake will remain faithful to the original, complete with high-definition artwork, redone character models and a lot of new features, including a co-operative gamemode.
Postal: Redux is currently confirmed to release on PC, Mac and Linux, and it’ll feature twin-stick controls and it’ll still have its dark tone as it did in the original. More information is promised in the coming days. What’s more is that the original Postal will also be arriving on Android sometime in the coming months as well, but the remake is slated to release sometime next year.
