Detailed on the official Star Wars website , Disney and Lucasfilm announced yesterday, March 18, that principal photography for the first installment to the next Star Wars trilogy will start in a couple of months, with a release date for late next year.
Production of Star Wars: Episode VII will start this coming May at London’s Pinewood Studios, and will be directed by J.J. Abrams, who also directed the latest Star Trek movies.
What’s more, Episode VII will take place 30 years after the events of Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi . The new addition to the Star Wars movie saga will feature three young leads and some very familiar faces.
Additional details on casting and/or the movie’s plot have yet to be revealed.
