Street Fighter V Beta Comes Back Online

Street Fighter V Beta Comes Back Online

Over the past few days, Playstation 4 users have been reporting that the Street Fighter V beta has come back online. Capcom closed the beta after it was clear that their servers could not handle the player load. They promised to bring the beta back online after they tweak their servers and netcode. Peculiarly, however, Capcom never actually announced the return of the Street Fighter V beta. Instead, the beta simply started working again, randomly.

Users who get online will receive this message:

We are currently running an internal stress test on the Street Fighter V servers, which will help us get the first official public beta program re-launched as quickly as possible. We appreciate your continued patience and we’ll share more information on the timing of the official beta tests soon.

I have managed to play in a couple matches since this connectivity started coming back, however, connections are still spotty, drop routinely, and many people can’t connect in the first place.

If anything, these continued connection problems say good things for the final Street Fighter V product. It’s better that they catch all of these issues now, rather than when the game officially releases. You wouldn’t want the servers to be dropping you on release day.
