StreetPass Mii Plaza’s Game Vault is So Smart

StreetPass Mii Plaza’s Game Vault is So Smart

The StreetPass Mii Plaza update is here! If you’re among the many whose faces light up the moment you tag someone else with a 3DS, you probably did exactly what I did the moment you could, which is buy Battleground Z and Ultimate Angler . Ideally together so you could get the two for $6.99 or $7.99 instead of $4.99 each. However, this update didn’t just mean you got new games to beat. It also opened up the Game Vault.

The StreetPass Mii Plaza Game Vault is quite possibly the best part about this update. I mean, new games, hats, outfits, and speech bubbles are great, too. They’re good stuff. But the Game Vault is important because it lets you store away the Mii Plaza minigames you’ve already beat.

That may seem rather simple. I mean, there are only eight titles. It isn’t as though it takes too long to shift through them in the minigame section. But the Mii Plaza Game Vault is more important than that. When someone stuffs a completed game in, it stops reporting notifications about said game.

Now, for most people this is no big deal. But for those who get lots of StreetPasses and already beat most of the titles, it’s huge. Think about it. Whenever you get fresh StreetPasses, you’d always get a message asking you if you really wanted to check and see who was at the gate, because there were still games you haven’t played with your current guests. Stowing ones you’re done with in the Game Vault turns off those notifications, so you’ll only be reminded about the games that matter.

But wait! What if you don’t know if you’re done? Well, the StreetPass Mii Plaza takes that into account too. Games that are completed have a medal appear on your icon. You may not have earned all of the Exchange Booth tickets, but it definitely means you’ve reached the end of the game. You can tell at a glance which ones don’t have to be there anymore.

The Game Vault is reassuring. It’s invaluable. People need to know about it. The inclusion makes the StreetPass Mii Plaza easier to use and less cumbersome, which is always appreciated. Especially if you intend to take your 3DS along to cons or often visit Nintendo Zones. You want to get in, collect the passes and their incentives, and get out. The Game Vault makes it easier to do that, and it’s appreciated.
