3DS Shop Opens With Two Freebies

None

Have you been waiting anxiously for the 3DS shop to finally open? Well, it is finally coming in Nintendo’s 3DS firmware update next week. To reward you for your patience, Nintendo has two freebies that you can download as soon as the service launches. The first is the NES classic Excitebike, which will be available from the virtual console. This game will only be free for 30 days, so if you don’t want to pay $5.99 (the game’s normal price), you’ll have to act fast.

The second freebie is actually one that will always be free and involves everyone’s favorite little monsters—Pokémon! This freebie is a 3D Pokédex of all the new Pokémon from the Black and White series and will let you look at their stats at a glance and import the 3D Pokémon into your existing pictures. Oh, and just to make things a little more fun, the 3D Pokédex also features StreetPass functionality that unlocks Pokémon based on your everyday encounters. Fun stuff!
