Summer Sales For All

Summer Sales For All

None

Get out your wallets, gamers. July has begun and, with it, digital distributors are breaking out their best bargains.

Keeping with its annual tradition, Steam has a combination ten-day sale and sweepstakes. Most titles from many major publishers have been heavily discounted for the duration. In addition, the sale offers a dozen or so special deals per day. The running sweepstakes, on the other hand, is a series of daily achievements that reward players with tickets. These tickets all go toward a grand prize drawing in which 100 players will each receive the top 10 games on their wishlist, but the tickets can also be redeemed for smaller prizes.

Having just launched its Origin service, EA is eager to draw gamers in with its summer deals. Until July 5, the Origin store will offer 40% off on select titles, including releases such as The Sims Medieval and Dead Space 2.

Xbox owners should also check out Microsoft’s Summer of Arcade, which promises the release of five highly-anticipated downloadable titles over the summer. Those who purchase them all will also receive a sixth downloadable title free of charge when it releases in September.
