Left 4 Dead 2 DLC Crashing In Early

None

Last week, Valve announced that it would release the remade “Dead Air” campaign early if 20,000 gamers finished the “Cold Stream” beta campaign. The deadline for this task? Sunday, also the final day of Valve’s summer Steam sale.

According to Valve, fans have succeeded in spades. Within 24 hours of the announcement, over 60,000 Steam members had received the “Stream Crosser” achievement for completing the campaign, more than tripling the numbers required for the early release. True to their word, Valve has now stated that “Dead Air” will be released as soon as it’s finished.

“Dead Air” is the second of the campaigns from the original Left 4 Dead to be remade for its sequel. These updates take the classic levels and flesh them out with the expanded arsenal from the second game, including more variety within each weapon class and melee weapons. The new special infected from the second game, including Chargers and Jockeys, are also integrated, ensuring that survivors aren’t the only ones getting a boost.

“Dead Air” was originally scheduled for release on July 22, which Valve now says is the absolute latest that the DLC will be released.
