Commemorating the thirtieth anniversary of Space Invaders, Cheat CC is offering a one-million dollar prize to the player with the highest score in Space Invaders. Cheat CC will be coming to a city near you to let you compete. Cheat CC will be touring the country with their mobile gaming unit, a convoy of giant semi trailers that can be modularly attached on location to form the world’s largest mobile arcade. The Cheat CC Mobile Arcade can accommodate more than 500 players at one time. For this upcoming tour all game systems will be equipped with the original version of Space Invaders. Gamers of all ages can participate for free, but they only get one shot to get the highest score and win the million dollars. Players must complete a retinal scan to qualify. This will ensure that each player will only get one chance. The subsequent score will be matched with the player’s name and retinal scan to verify the actual winner. All of the highest scores will be stored on a secure remote server. The leaderboard will be downloadable so that players can keep track of how things are developing. There are no second chances. No playoffs. The player with the highest score at the end of summer, September 21, 2008, will win one million dollars.
The Cheat CC Mobile Arcade will be visiting various local fairs and events in all of the major cities throughout North America, including some dates in Canada. The contest will run for the entire length of the summer of ‘08. As long as the Mobile Arcade is stationary and set up, the doors will be open 24 hours. Only when the mobile moves to another location will it be temporarily shut down. It’s estimated that the mobile can accommodate up to 100,000 players in a 24-hour period. That means that millions of gamers will be able to take part in the contest. Random prizes will be awarded to players by various sponsors. Those that reach a score of 100,000 will automatically receive a free next-gen gaming console of their choice as well as a hot dog, pop, and a colored balloon. Spokesman for the contest, Harry Ibet says that it will be great to finally meet our loyal gaming friends face to face. “It will be great to get out of the office for the summer. We know that our demographic is largely comprised of young males with low self-esteem so we are bringing along a bevy of scantily clad hostesses to be friendly to them and assure them that girls will find them attractive if they follow proper hygiene protocol,” says Ibet. “You know, just the basic stuff. Brush your teeth, put on some deodorant, make sure that no toilet paper is left between the cheeks.” Keep an eye out for the Cheat CC Mobile Arcade coming to a town near you.
