In an interview with Official Nintendo Magazine (ONM), Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto let it be known that Super Mario Galaxy 2 (SMG2) will in fact be “a really challenging game”. However, rather than helping out more casual players via the Super Guide (video tutorials introduced in New Super Mario Bros. Wii), Super Mario Galaxy 2 may not include the new feature. “Well, as far as the challenge of Super Mario Galaxy 2 is concerned, I think it’s going to be a really challenging game, but whether or not we are going to incorporate the Super Guide, I just cannot tell,” Miyamoto told ONM. “In general, wherever and whenever appropriate, I think we will want to incorporate that kind of thing, but I cannot commit to anything specific right now.” Considering the extensive casual user base of Wii, it seems unlikely the Super Guide won’t make it into SMG2 despite the fact its creator can’t “commit to anything specific”.
