Super Mario Run Coming to iOS, Android

Super Mario Run Coming to iOS, Android

With Nintendo expressing its full commitment to the mobile space going forward, we knew that a Mario game was inevitable. During yesterday’s Apple event, it was revealed that Super Mario Run would be headed to iOS this holiday season. I’m not sure I would have predicted or even wished for a “runner,” but you have to admit it makes a lot of sense. This won’t be a free-to-play game; instead Nintendo will be charging a one-time price that has yet to be revealed.

In Super Mario Run Mario will automatically run to the right through a variety of stages, while players tap, hold, and swipe to manipulate him in multiple ways. There was obviously no mention of an Android version during the event. However, Nintendo mentioned in a statement to Kotaku (via TechnoBuffalo ) that it does “…intend to release the game on Android devices at some point in the future.”

So there it is! I would have rather learned more about the upcoming Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing mobile games, but this will do in the meantime. Enjoy some gameplay footage below:
