T-Mobile Is Supporting People’s Pokemon Go Adventures

T-Mobile Is Supporting People’s Pokemon Go Adventures

Worried about the side-effects of Pokemon Go ? I’m talking about the cost of using all that data to play. Well, if you have a T-Mobile plan, you have nothing to worry about. John Legere, the CEO and President of T-Mobile, has declared Pokemon Go data free for exactly one year.

Until August 2017, Pokemon Go ’s exempt and doesn’t count toward data used on your plan. You just have to grab the T-Mobile Tuesday app and claim it on a Tuesday between July 19 and August 9. It’ll be joined by deals that will give you a free $15 Lyft ride and free Wendy’s Frosty.

T-Mobile is also going to hold a Pokemon Go contest when this kicks off. $100 worth of PokeCoins will go to 250 T-Mobile customers who participate, and five will end up getting trips anywhere in the US for themselves and one companion to go hunt Pokemon.

Pokemon Go time can really rack up. I’ve been playing since it launched in the US, and it’s taken up 158MB of cellular data. I could imagine that number going much higher once the Pokedex expands. It kind of makes me wish I was a T-Mobile customer!
