Take-Two Accused Of Abusing Testers

Take-Two Accused Of Abusing Testers

None

Let’s be real here. Video game testing is a crap job. A lot of people might think that it’s some sort of miracle wonder job where all you do is play video games all day, when, in reality, it’s a lot of repetitive work that forces people to play horrible games over and over and over again until they break. Video game testers are sort of the whipping boys of video game development, so no one really expects them to be treated like royalty.

However, Take-Two is being accused of treating their testers much worse than that. A former tester at Visual Concepts, a subsidiary company of Take-Two Interactive, is accusing his former employers of numerous workplace violations. The tester is Aaron Martinez, and he is claiming that he, along with other members of the QA team, were not paid for all their hours worked. He also claims that they weren’t given breaks or lunch periods, and that after their job was done they never received wages that they were owed.

Take-Two, obviously, is denying these allegations. So most likely, we will end up seeing them in court. The jury is out on our opinion, but we do know that some employers can take things a little too far when it comes to the grunt work.
