After an expectedly rumor-filled start, Tales of Symphonia Chronicles has today been confirmed for release on the PlayStation 3. Not only will the release save Tales of fans countless hours of eBay scrounging, but, as Namco Bandai showed at the recent Tales Festival, offer a horde of unique gaming merch along with it.
Following in the broad shadow of the impressive Tales of Xillia HD collector’s edition, the Unisonant Edition for Symphonia had a high bar to meet. Luckily, and in classically Namco fashion, the limited edition bundle has instead shattered the bar entirely.
The $100 Unisonant Edition will include the PS3 game itself, five figurines unique to the edition, a Tales of Symphonia light novel (whose contents have yet to be fully explained), the first-print 10 th Anniversary Greeting Card complete with a custom PS3 theme and a message from Tales of artists, all bundled in a gorgeously collectable box with art by Ufotable.
Tales of Symphonia Chronicles is set for a western localization in 2014, while Japanese gamers will get their hands on the game October 10. Judging by Namco’s localization record, and Tales of Xillia ’s impending release, North American fans can optimistically expect Chronicles by Q2 2014 at the latest.
