Team Fortress 2 Gets Halloween Update

Team Fortress 2 Gets Halloween Update

None

Remember the Horseless Headless Horseman from Team Fortress 2 last year? This was proof positive that the guys on the TF2 development team have both a sense of humor and a love for Halloween. Well, this year we are getting a Halloween update again, including new costumes, a new map, and a new scary monster to run away from.

Costumes are earnable just like any other item or hat in the game, only, much like the original item set, they are attached to achievements. The two achievements that have been advertised include “getting to loot island,” which probably involved reaching a certain location on the new Halloween-themed map, and killing Monoculus, a giant floating eyeball conjured up from underneath the Demoman’s eyepatch. The eyeball will chase you around the stage, attempting to kill you no matter what team you are on, but you can kill it if you pump enough bullets into it.

The costumes themselves are full-body affairs. The engineer, for example, looks like a reject from The Fly , while the Soldier is going as one of my favorite characters of all time, cardboard box robot.

It may not be the scariest game out there, but TF2 is a good game to spend your Halloween playing nonetheless.
