The Wikipad Gets Dated At GameStop

The Wikipad is a brand new tablet PC that runs on Android. Unlike most tablets, this one had a detachable set of gaming controls complete with D-pad, dual analog sticks, face buttons, triggers, and more.

Designed for mobile gaming, the Wikipad will feature Android 4.1, a 10.1’ screen, 1200×800 resolution, 1GB DDR2 ram, 16GB of internal flash storage (expandable to 64GB) and an NvidiaTegra 3 T30 1.4HZ processor. It will support PlayStation Mobile, Gaikai, and Onlive.

The Wikipad will be coming to GameStop on October 31 st , 2012. It will retail at a strikingly high price of $499, far above most other handheld gaming machines, though comparable with other tablets on the market. Pre-orders for the device are now open. Gamers who opt to pre-order will get special extras such as “exclusive free, full-length game titles” and an issue of the digital edition of Game Informer .
