ToeJam & Earl Re-releases Are Coming

ToeJam & Earl Re-releases Are Coming

None

Quirky SEGA Mega Drive classics ToeJam & Earl and its sequel, ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron, will be getting re-releases on current consoles sometime in the future, series co-creator Greg Johnson has confirmed.

The titles will reportedly be a part of SEGA’s ongoing Vintage Collection series, following in the footsteps of the publisher’s upcoming Gunstar Heroes and Jet Set Radio re-releases.

We don’t have many details on the exact nature of the re-releases at the moment—whether or not they will be straight ports of the 90’s action games or if they will be updated in some way is still to be seen. However, Johnson has told Side Mission that the classics should be coming to Xbox LIVE Arcade, PlayStation Network, and “probably” Steam.

As for when ToeJam and Earl and Panic on Funkotron will actually come out, Johnson says he doesn’t know, since he now heads HumanNature Studios and isn’t involved with the games’ development. “That’s totally out of my control,” he said.

“I’m looking forward to it too,” he added. “I get lots of fan mail from people waiting, so I hope they do it soon.”
