There was a bit of a controversy last week. A few people took issue with one of Tracer’s victory poses in Overwatch , saying it was too sexual and out-of-character . Blizzard said they’d be changing it. Some people were upset, as they considered it censorship. Tracer’s new victory pose has been added to the game. Honestly? It isn’t too different.
Tracer’s new Overwatch pose still has her looking over her shoulder. This time, it looks like she’s mid-strut, with her back partially to the player and her chest puffed out. It’s still very feminine and, yes, even sexy. But, it’s also cuter and more playful than the victory pose it replaced.
Perhaps this is a win-win situation? People who enjoy fanservice still get a Tracer pose that is very appealing. Those who wanted her to remain in character get a more playful pose that shows her energetic personality and agility. Let’s cross our fingers and hope everyone’s happy now.
