Twitch Uploads Has Entered Open Beta

Twitch Uploads Has Entered Open Beta

Twitch is known as a streaming site. You go online and let people watch while you play, but when you go offline it’s mostly done. However, a TwitchCon 2016 has introduced a critical new feature to the site. Uploads has entered the open beta phase.

Uploads is just what it sounds like. You will now be able to actually upload videos for people to watch on your page. That means keeping and offering your best footage in the same place where you’re offering it live. You can download your old streams, edit them to create videos that act as montages, highlight reels, or even playthrough tutorials based on your past experiences. These videos won’t expire and you can tell everyone what you’ve done via your channel feed and follower notifications.

I really like the idea of it. It seems like Twitch uploads will make it easier for streamers to create a portfolio and build an audience. Famous streamers can use it to give great examples of their best work for fans to watch. People just starting out can direct people to clips to hopefully make more of a name for themselves. It seems like everyone will win! Here’s hoping this grows into a well-rounded feature everyone can enjoy.
