Uncharted isn’t a series known for its multiplayer, so I had very low expectations leading up to the trailer for the multiplayer mode in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End shown at Sony’s latest press conference. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw.
Combat looked fast and furious; full of familiar faces and familiar gameplay mechanics. Players will run, jump, scale, cover and shoot as part of a dynamic team with various powers and abilities. You’ll also be able to call in some specialty NPC support. We saw three different types in the trailer: a sniper type to pick off enemies or give you cover, a medic type who can help you recover when you go down, and a brutish grappler who will hold your enemies still while you finish them off.
If you’d like to try the multiplayer out for yourself, you’ll have that opportunity before too long. The multiplayer beta will take place December 4-13. You can check out the multiplayer trailer below:
