Valve Doesn’t Play Solo

None

Did you enjoy Portal 2’s single-player campaign? Are you a big Half-Life fan? Well, according to a recent feature article that included quotes from Valve bosses Gabe Newell and Erik Johnson, you can expect a lot less of these types of games. According to the article, “Portal 2 will probably be Valve’s last game with an isolated single-player experience.”

This news comes as quite a shock to those who really enjoyed Portal 2 (which, incidentally, is Valve’s highest-rated game ever) and Half-Life fans who are eagerly waiting the third iteration of Half-Life, which has always been traditionally single-player. Though the article references the Valve creators directly and attributes the above quite to them, I can’t help but hope something was taken out of context, as the single-player experience is still something plenty of gamers want and expect, especially from Valve.
