Wal-Mart Restocks Wii U, Forces Bundles

Wal-Mart Restocks Wii U, Forces Bundles

Often, when a hot new console hits shelves, retailers will bundle it together with various games and accessories in an attempt to take advantage of prospective buyers’ feverish desire for the base product by saddling it with various questionable add-ons. Consumers get their consoles, the retailer moves more product.

By past standards, though, Wal-Mart’s current bundle offer is positively generous.

Both the basic and deluxe sets for the Wii U are back in stock today (sporadically) via the Wal-Mart website. Well, they’re available as long as one is willing to order them along with a game. Further, it appears that any launch title will do, so would-be purchasers are not saddled with a “lesser of two evils” choice between something like Sports Connection and Game Party Champions.

Since the Wii U isn’t particularly useful without software to play, this is a very, very good opportunity to avail oneself of Nintendo’s latest.
