Walt Williams Quits the Biz

Walt Williams Quits the Biz

Walt Williams, veteran writer for 2K games, has decided to leave the company after nine years. Walt is known for his work on Mafia II, Bioshock 2, The Darkness II, and Spec Ops: The Line . He is leaving the studio in order to “try something new”

Williams has described his time at 2K as trying, difficult, and mind blowingly wonderful. He has made it clear that he will not be leaving games entirely, however he will be leaving AAA game development. He also made it clear that this isn’t because he has any particular problem with the AAA gaming industry. Instead, he simply wants to try something new and go in a different direction.

Williams doesn’t have any new project lined up right now. However, he did say he might look into book writing to go alongside his game writing. He asked his fans to stick with them, but cautioned that you probably won’t hear about his next project any time soon.

The last two projects that Williams worked on were Evolve and Civilization: Beyond Earth , slated to come out in February 2015 and October 2014 respectively.

We wish Williams the best in all of his future projects.
