Modern consoles also make for rather nice media hubs. You can play your games, watch digital video, listen to music, and view streams from apps like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and Crunchyroll. Sadly, something was missing. Even though you can stream to Twitch with a push of a Dualshock 4 controller button, there was no PlayStation 4 Twitch app. That has been remedied.
The PlayStation 4 Twitch app is now live on the PlayStation Store . It’s a free download and accessing it allows you to watch live or archived videos and participate in chats. The app even highlights other PlayStation 4 users who are currently broadcasting their games. If you have 51.5MB free, you can start watching some esports easily.
Eventually, the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita will get their own Twitch apps too. Supposedly, these will come before fall ends. In the meantime, at least one Sony platform will let you watch video game streams.
