Wii U Virtual Console Database Hides Some Surprises

Wii U Virtual Console Database Hides Some Surprises

If you’re very brave, you can install ‘WiiUbrew,’ on your Wii U. It’s a homebrew suite that could very possibly brick your console or result in a permaban from the Nintendo Network if you don’t know what you’re doing. I don’t have homebrew installed on my Wii U, and I don’t recommend that you install it on yours, but those who have are reporting some very curious findings.

With the proper application, users are able to datamine the Nintendo Update Services database, which shows all of the apps and games available to download through the eShop, and it seems that some icons have been uncovered for games that we haven’t seen yet. A few days ago there were reports of an icon and game titled, “ The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD ,” and some other games are listed as well – Metroid: Other M and Super Paper Mario , for example.

For the time being these games are listed for release in Japan, and there has been no official word yet on whether or not we’ll see these on the Virtual Console at all, but stay tuned for news on any future findings.
