Yo-Kai Watch is huge in Japan. It’s not quite Pokemon huge, but it’s close. When the first Yo-Kai Watch game came out back in 2014, it sold over 5 million copies. It took a little while for the game to make it West, but when it did, it was well-received. The game sold extremely well, the anime has been airing on Disney XD, and Yo-Kai Watch even has a commanding mobile presence through a popular game and a companion app. Our love of the mischievous Yo-Kai has proven true, and we have been found worthy of the sequel.
Like Pokemon , the game will come in two flavors: Bony Spirits and Fleshy Souls . Expect to discover 100 new Yo-Kai in the game, and you can learn even more about them through the anime, a new season of which will be airing this summer on Disney XD. If that’s not enough, there’s a new line of Hasbro toys on the way that you can splurge on. You can even buy yourself a fancy new Yo-Kai watch to match the one the hero wears in the new season of the show. Yo-Kai Watch 2 will be arriving in the U.S. on September 30 for the Nintendo 3DS.
