Zelda Never Returning To Traditional Controls?

Zelda Never Returning To Traditional Controls?

None

Remember the old days of Zelda, when you could simply press a button to swing your sword or fire an arrow?Well, we might not ever be returning to that.

Legend of Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma told Official Nintendo Magazine that he can’t ever see Nintendo returning to standard button controls for The Legend of Zelda Franchise. Motion controls are far too fun and innovative, apparently. “I honestly think we cannot go back to button controls now,” he said, “so I think that these controls will be used in future Zelda titles, too.”

Of course, this means that whatever Zelda game that comes out for the Wii U will probably still use old school Wiimotes with Wii Motion Plus to control the action. In all honesty, Skyward Sword was a lot of fun, so I wouldn’t really blame them if they followed this pattern for all future Zelda games. This assumes, however, that all future Nintendo consoles will have some sort of motion control interface. And if that is true, I would say that is easily the bigger news here.
