Zynga, the well-known development house behind Facebook games like Farmville and Mafia Wars, has been reported to have surpassed gaming giant EA in terms of corporate worth. The company’s total stock value was reported yesterday at $5.51 billion, which just edges out EA’s total stock value of $5.22 billion. This could mark a huge shift in the gaming industry as Zynga has not gotten to the top through game sales (all of its games are free) but instead makes revenue through ads and paid bonus content.  |
