On a high ridge southeast of Promise, find the journal of Chief Engineer Grace Lito. You will find this much easier to access once you've upgraded the NOMAD's 4-wheel drive and boost.
Talk to Addison about getting her back in the field. She'll give you a blistering speech about Pathfinder feckless and playing favorites. Then go to Brecka to actually get Grace de-iced. And… that's it. You actually don't even have to talk to Addison, but it's character-forming.
You may want to do this before Liam's Loyalty Mission. Grace's presence doesn't seem to change anything, but she has a few lines here and there.
