Amazon, the same company you buy your books, back massagers, and inflatable couches from… among other things… now owns Twitch.TV. The acquisition of the streaming service is officially complete, according to a new SEC filing. Amazon purchased all outstanding shares of Twitch for about $970 million.
Twitch community, CEO Emmett Shear wrote, “We chose Amazon because they believe in our community, they share our values and long-term vision, and they want to help us get there faster.
