Like Animal Crossing? Go buy a card binder. People in Japan need to do this ASAP, as Nintendo’s Animal Crossing amiibo cards will be launching in Japan on July 30 alongside Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer . The rest of us get a little more time.
It seems the 3DS game’s launch in every region is the starting point for the next run of potentially rare amiibo-related products. Europe’s amiibo card launch date is October 2, and ours could end up being September 25.
How rare could these end up being? Well, the first wave of Animal Crossing amiibo cards features 100 different ones. And you know how distribution works in CCGs. One pack will likely be filled with commons, and maybe one rare if you’re lucky.
One pack of amiibo cards is ¥300, which is about $2.50. Let’s hope that pricing carries over to other regions.
