One of the main marketing points that Sony has been pushing for the PS4 is it’s openness toward indie development and self-publishing. However, Microsoft too is expanding their library of indie games, with over 250 developers receiving Xbox One dev kits through the ID@Xbox program.
“Our goal has always been to make Xbox One the best place to play games, and that means having a diverse portfolio for gamers to choose from,” Microsoft Studios corporate vice president Phil Spencer said. “We’ve worked closely with independent developers to bring their own brand of creativity and innovation to the platform and today is just the beginning.”
Microsoft announced 25 new indie titles coming to the Xbox One at the GDC yesterday, as representatives of the success of the ID@Xbox program. Many of these titles are well known indie games that have already come out on other platforms, including Contrast, Divekick Addition Edition +, and Super Time Force .
