Portable versions of consoles games are usually the lesser of the options. Apparently, with the 3DS and PS Vita releases of LEGO Marvel’s Avengers, this won’t be the case.
Steve Thornton, who works as the game director on the portable versions, says LEGO Marvel’s Avengers won’t be scaled down to fit the handheld. The hub worlds will be the same and feature characters walking about. There will also be no load times in the game. They will also be “fully populated with traffic and pedestrian systems, props, and Free Play content.
In fact, the 3DS and PS Vita versions, while not the same graphically, will feature their own additional content. As of writing, there will be 15 challenges only available on handhelds, and a separate storyline for Doctor Strange, Daredevil, and Moon Knight.
The game will release on all platforms January 26.
