Alien: Isolation to run a 1080p on Xbox One / PS4

Alien: Isolation to run a 1080p on Xbox One / PS4

In a discussion with Total Xbox, Creative Assembly’s Gary Napper assured that the upcoming Alien: Isolation will run pretty much the same on both Sony’s PlayStation 4 and Microsoft’s Xbox One. Not only that, but they’ll both run in 1080p, according to Total Xbox.

“That’s actually not something I get that into, because we build it on one central engine and then kick it out to different versions, ” Napper then added when asked for specifics. ” So when I think about working on the game it’s almost platform agnostic because I only think about the differences between platforms and the different mechanics we can use like the light on the PS4 pad and the stuff with Kinect 2.0.

Napper went on to note that Alien: Isolation’s frame rate will be comparable between both consoles, and that the PC version will have a lot more options to customize and tweak. Details as to what the frame will actually be were not revealed.

So I think with frame rate it’s pretty comparable. There’s no noticeable drop or change in graphics between them. Obviously there are a lot more options to tweak and scale up on the PC, ” Napper went on.

Alien: Isolation was first announced back in early January, and the title’s story follows Ripley’s daughter, Amanda, 15 years after the events of Ridley Scott’s original Alien movie back in 1979. Alien: Isolation is touted to be an experience that will constantly keep you on edge and constantly keep your wits about you, especially since the Alien of the title will behave in an dynamic and organic way while it stalks and hunts you.

Alien: Isolation is slated to release on Tuesday, October 21 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC.
