Almost 5 Million Switches Already Sold

Almost 5 Million Switches Already Sold

Nintendo of Japan has announced some sales figures for the Nintendo Switch, and they’re seriously impressive. In the company’s quarterly earnings report, Nintendo has revealed that the Switch has moved 4.7 million units from the time frame between launching in March and the end of June. That’s almost five million in four months.

Sales figures for Switch software are also included in the report, showing some impressive numbers as well. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sold 3.92 million copies. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe sold 3.5 million. ARMS , Nintendo’s newest IP, reached 1.18 million. This is all in the same time period, meaning ARMS sold that many copies in roughly half a month. Splatoon 2 is not included, as it launched in July.

While supply shortages of the Switch have been a problem, due to external issues such as part shortages, Nintendo is sticking to its goal of 10 million units sold by the end of next March. Think the company will meet that goal? Maybe they will exceed it!
