Arkham Asylum Heading To Mac OS

None

Sure, Batman: Arkham Asylum has been available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, but what about the miniscule number of self-important Mac owners who refuse to purchase a gaming system and still want to play? Well, the folks over at Feral Interactive, a Macintosh-centric publishing company, have them covered. Arkham Asylum will finally be coming to Mac OS on October 13.

Mac owners will be able to purchase the game via Feral’s website as well as the swanky new Mac App Store, but only if they’re willing to drop the $39.99 that Feral is planning to charge. I was a bit surprised that Feral thinks they can get away with charging this much for a game that came out two years ago. Not to mention that Arkham City is set to be released five days after Arkham Asylum arrives on the Mac platform.

Obviously, Feral believes that they have a captive audience, and they might be right; Mac owners are notoriously devoted to their beloved computers.

David Stephen, Managing Director of Feral Interactive, gave a little sales pitch for the Asylum’s upcoming release: “Batman: Arkham Asylum is a game where all the individual elements, story, gameplay, design, music and voice acting all combine superbly to create an extraordinary experience,” he said.

Pre orders are currently available on Feral’s website, but you may want to just purchase a console instead. Batman: Arkham City hits shelves on October 18th, which means that you probably won’t be able to play it on a Mac until sometime in 2013.
