Assassin’s Creed Patch Makes Pirates More High-Def

Assassin’s Creed Patch Makes Pirates More High-Def

Ubisoft recently released a title update for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag for the PS4, which will make your game look a little bit better. It increases the game’s native resolution from 900p to true 1080p. This avoids a couple graphical issues with upscaling the resolution and simply makes the game look better overall.

As is the case with all PS4 patches, the update will be download and installed automatically. The patch will also be available for the Xbox One version of the game and will introduce a new method of anti-aliasing, which once again makes the game look better at higher resolutions. In fact, that’s what producer Sylvain Trottier said is most important about the update. Much of the Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag team has already moved on to other projects at this point. But the team was so dedicated that they still developed this new anti-aliasing method.

Trottier says that you will “notice the difference by far” between running the game in 720p and 1080p. The game originally shipped in 900p in order to avoid dropping below 30fps . It’s not clear what the game does differently to avoid such a framerate drop now, but at least we can be assured that game won’t chug along at a crawl when lots of stuff is on the screen. In fact, the only thing this game will chug while sailing the high seas are casks of illegally obtained rum.
