Avatars Revamping for Kinect

Avatars Revamping for Kinect

None

By now we’ve all adjusted to our preferred consoles’ electronic representations. Whether it’s the Wii’s cartoony Miis, the PS3’s more realistic looking Home avatars, or the Xbox 360’s avatars falling somewhere in between the two, we now recognize their distinctive looks. However, Xbox 360 owners can expect their console’s personas to change in the near future.

According to the Official Xbox Magazine, Rare has plans of changing their creations, turning them into “Avatar 2.0.” Nick Burton, senior programmer at avatar creators Rare, says the avatars will be becoming more realistic. This change is coming as a result of some players having hand-eye coordination problems while playing the Kinect due to the avatars’ cartoony proportions. While no official date for the avatar update was given, we can expect to see more accurately proportioned avatars coming to the Xbox 360 before the launch of the Kinect on November fourth.
